SAL Scottish Association of Landlords
Scottish Association of Landlords, also known as “SAL”, is one of the largest national organisations representing landlords and letting agents in Scotland.
The British Landlord Association (The BLA) and the National Residential Landlord Association are the only other two representing landlords in Scotland.
The BLA is the only free national Association that covers England, Wales & Scotland.
What is the Scottish Association of Landlord SAL?
SAL support and represent their members’ interests by providing assistance and resources. They are lobbying the Scottish Government well as carrying out campaigning work for its members.

The Scottish Association represent residential private and corporate members in Scotland, just like the NRLA. However, it would seem the British Landlord Association is the only one that represents commercial and residential landlords.
The Scottish Association of Landlords offers a brilliant direct representation by their Council of Letting Agents (the CLA). They can help with their wealth of experience single property owner to managers of the largest agency portfolios.
The SAL Policy & Parliamentary Affairs arm has been campaigning successfully at the heart of the Scottish Parliament since their incorporation.
SAL links with Scottish local authorities centrally and via their local branch structure. They actively campaign at the local and national level.
The branch meetings are an excellent opportunity for members to gather locally to learn from each other’s experience.
The Scottish Association of Landlords training programme is delivered via their sister organisation, Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS). Various training courses and accreditation is available, which is discounted.
LAS offers various practical training courses, so landlord focuses on a better standard of housing for their tenants and rating energy efficiency standards.
SAL Members can access factsheets, including all documentation for creating letting tenancies. These documents can be downloaded and adapted as required.
