Can rent arrears be taken from universal credit? this is what I found on shelter website but I do not know if it is correct: Your landlord can ask for money to be taken from your universal credit (UC) if you owe at least 2 months' rent. This table shows the minimum and maximum amounts that can be taken for rent or service charge arrears. Amounts are rounded to the nearest pound.

Universal Credit: Landlord request for a managed payment or rent arrears deduction. If a tenant is having difficulty paying their rent, apply for a Managed Payment to Landlord using the Apply for a Direct Rent Payment service to request payment of rent from a tenant's Universal Credit.
