Eviction – advice required

LANDLORD FORUMCategory: EvictionEviction – advice required
John asked 4 years ago

I have a tenant that has not paid rent on a residential property lease since October 2019. The tenant is not taking or returning calls, continues to reside at the property (outside of the tenancy agreement which expired in early March) and, according to my letting agent, has changed the locks.

I have a court issued possession order, issued at the end of February '20, but couldn't employ a Bailiff before the COVID19 related temporary pause on evictions (aimed at those affected by the economic impact of the pandemic).

I’m wondering if there’s a way to forcibly remove this tenant as this default situation is not related to the impact of the pandemic or do I have to wait until the eviction restrictions are lifted?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly you have to wait until the 3 months has expired.
