Hi everyone, I am a new member and need some advice, I have a tenant who moved in a couple of weeks before lockdown, I have a Licensed HMO which has 7 tenants in total, licensed for 14 people. The tenant has been unable to see her family ( live in Northern Ireland) or boyfriend ( Lives in Dominican Republic) for months due to travel restrictions. Recently Dom Rep has been added to the list of non exempt countries which means he has to self isolate for 14 days and wants to stay for a whole month after his isolation is completed. Where do I stand legally please, I am not happy with the situation as I think I will be putting my other tenants at a higher risk and most of them work in the NHS with vulnerable patients, please help.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer

The BLA will offer a service where members can buy or sell a property. The service for members is free.

Are you looking to sell any of your properties? We are looking to expand our network and would like to know further landlords (Even if you’re not looking to sell at this very moment). Thank you

you have a legal obligation to your other tenants a duty of care. You must not allow the boyfriend into the HMO.

That’s a nice thought Paul, but I don’t think we have any legal right to do anything about the issue? Can’t shoot him when he arrives. Can’t have him arrested..
