LANDLORD FORUMCategory: COVID-19Cannot let empty rooms during COVID- any governement help for landlords available?

I have empty rooms which i am unable to show due to covid , i have had interest

i have even had a booking from photos - but due to covid extension she backed out after waiting a month to move in.

I have lost a lot of rent which i would have received if we were not in lockdown and not able to add new people from outside the household into the property to join existing housemates.

Is there any funding available to plug this gap in earnings? the payment holiday for mortgage and maybe council tax is a help but it will all need paying eventually- we have had no income coming in to help us pay this

Have Landlord Organisations petitioned the Government to ask for help since we are not classed as the usual self employed ?

I wrote to my MP asking for help but it would have more weight if all landlords and all landlord organisations also asked the governement for funding to offset our loss in earnings or are we the only main group not covered by governmental assistance at this time ?

Non of my existing housemates want me to put in any new tenants from hospitals or care homes and this has also restricted my abolity to find anyone to move in some of the houses
